My passion for fitness and body mechanics started at the age of ten, when surgery forced me to re-learn how to walk. I’m also a full-time Dad to three girls and one boy, so I’m always running around to their events and activities. In my free time, I am the Director of Strength & Conditioning and Defensive Back Coach for the football team at Bothell High School. For this reason, I am able to help train people of all ages, abilities, and lifestyles. I like to adjust my daily routines for clients based not just on their physical goals, but also on what makes them feel comfortable. I believe that no results can be achieved without hard work, but I also think that exercise should be rewarding and fun. After my playing career, I was on the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Wyoming before moving to Seattle and joining the 1-on-1 Fitness team. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Promotion. During those four years, I realized that my passion for sports extended to health and fitness. I played football at the University of Wyoming and was honored to be the Team Captain. I like to go out and explore hiking places, restaurants, and coffee shops with my family. I try to find a way to enjoy nature every season. In my free time, I like to do my workouts and stretches. Working 1 to 1 with clients is my favorite way of training.Īs a personal trainer, my goal is to teach clients not just exercises but to guide them to learn how to have a healthier lifestyle where they can be more active, feel better, eat healthier and look better! I had my private boot camps where I provided HITT training and I have also worked 1 to 1 with clients. In my four years of experience, I have been working with military spouses of different backgrounds and ages, and it has been a beautiful and rewarding experience. I found that as a personal trainer I had the opportunity to be in the health and wellness career and combine it with my love to exercise. I completed my bachelor’s in Biology but being a military wife and moving to different places never allowed me to work on my concentration. I always like to learn about health and human anatomy. When my wife and I get to hang out with friends, it’s usually playing a board game or Dungeons & Dragons. Lifting is probably the hobby I spend most of my time on, alongside reading anything I can get my hands on. Outside of personal training, I’m also an adjunct professor of Communications at Northwest University and play drums for my friend, Isaac Peabody. Personal Training has given me the incredible opportunity to walk with people in their journey toward becoming their most flourishing self. So, I went on to earn my Personal Training Certification through the ACSM and have been training others full-time ever since. Since I had been training long enough that progress was becoming increasingly difficult, I dove headfirst into the world of exercise science to continue improving my own fitness.Īfter transitioning out of my role in pastoral ministry, several close friends suggested that I consider becoming a Personal Trainer. After finishing my master’s degree, I needed a new academic interest to satisfy my brain’s demand for constant learning. What was a fun hobby throughout college, eventually turned into a practice of self-care and personal development. I was introduced to resistance training the same way a lot of young males are–my big brother said I had to go to the gym with him one day.
